Our Story

Antillia Hotel is the latest construction of the family company Ciprotur Hotel Group.  

It all started in 1992, when a couple with dreams built a small fifty-room hotel in Ponta Delgada. They made the company grew to the current hotel group with four hotels and restaurants.  

Currently, their sons and daughter keep working for the family’s vision and sense of hospitality.

Why Antillia?

It is told that the island “Antillia” was first sighted in the year 750.  Many where the man who tried to find this Island in the centuries to come. It is believed that this mysterious island was, in fact, São Miguel Island, later registered, in the XV century, by Portuguese navigators.

The Ciprotur Hotel Group includes Hotel Ponta Delgada, a city hotel, the first of the group to be built, which has 98 rooms, indoor pool, spa, bar, restaurant, and event and meeting rooms. Hotel Ponta Delgada was expanded in 1998 and renovated in 2009 and 2017. 

The Hotel do Mar is a 2001 construction of the family hotel group. Enjoys a seafront location in the charming village of Povoação. Just a few minutes by car you can find the Furnas Village, with its lagoon, famous gardens, thermal water and volcanic thermal springs.

In Santa Maria Island, more specifically in Vila do Porto, you'll find. Hotel Colombo opened in 2005 and has 87 rooms, including 18 apartments, and large outdoor areas with swimming pool, bar and garden. Here, time passes by more slowly and the sunset is beautiful to watch.
